“Atiku will never accept any condition from President Buhari on the rigged election” – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate in the February poll, is not making any demands from President Muhammadu Buhari.

Recall that Atiku had formerly rejected the outcome of the election, adjudging it as the worst in 20 years.

In line with its mandate, the National Peace Committee led by Abdulsalami Abubakar, after meeting with Atiku, said he pointed that Atiku had intimated them on his grievances regarding the elections.

News on social media had reported that Atiku put forward a number of demands to include: unfreezing of bank accounts belonging to opposition politicians; demilitarisation of subsequent elections; accreditation of voters before voting in subsequent elections; access to the backend server of INEC by all parties who partook in the election, TheCable earlier reported.

However, responding to the press in Abuja, the PDP spokesman Kola Ologbondiyan, says Abubakar never made such demands, nor will he accept any conditions over the election “he clearly won”.

“The PDP states categorically, without mincing words, that Atiku Abubakar had not, and will never, make or accept any condition from President Buhari regarding the rigged February 23, 2019 Presidential election, which he (Atiku) clearly won,” the opposition party said.

“The Buhari Presidency and the APC know that their electoral robbery cannot stand before any noble justices and are now attempting to use all sorts of blackmail and shenanigans to derail the quest by Nigerians to reclaim the stolen mandate at the tribunal.

“However, let it be known to President Buhari and the APC that Atiku Abubakar and the PDP are standing shoulder to shoulder with Nigerians in this collective determination to take back the stolen mandate and we are not ready for any form of negotiation with anybody on this matter.

“Our party and candidate remain committed to the huge sacrifices made by Nigerians in ensuring our collective victory as delivered at the polling units across the country; we are mindful of the pains that Nigerians are passing through since the subversion of their will at the polls; we are sensitive to the expectations that millions of compatriots place on our shoulders in this struggle and we will never let Nigerians down.”

He also emphasised that the party remains undaunted in its resolve to pursue its mandate till Abubakar is declared president.

“We have all the authentic results from all the polling units as well as forensic evidence of manipulations by the APC and INEC. We will bare them all at the tribunal and the court will give justice to Nigerians,” it said.

“On that note, the PDP states unequivocally that nothing will change its resolve to pursue this despicable electoral fraud, unknown in our political history, to its end.

“We shall devote every energy necessary to reclaim our mandate and have Atiku Abubakar declared President, in line with the will of the people as delivered at the polling units on February 23, 2019.

“Anything short of this is not acceptable and no amount of false reports, connivance, contrivance, intimidation, harassment and fresh attacks on our leaders, including the Director General of our Presidential Campaign, Senate President Bukola Saraki, whose residence was besieged by security agents last night, can alter this resolve.”

“Nigerian people know how to reward those who are extremely arrogant”- Oshiomole on Saraki’s defeat

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC),
Adams Oshiomhole, says Senate President Bukola Saraki’s reflects the power of the people in rejceting people who are arrogant.

He made this statement while addressing state house correspondents at the presidential villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

While refusing to mention any name, it coulöd easily be deduced that he was referring to the senate president. This was even clearer when he said
although the ruling party had plans to impeach Saraki, the people decided they would rather “bury him.”

Dr. Bukola Saraki, represents Kwara central senatorial district under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has been the President of the Senate since 2015. He, however, lost to Ibrahim Oloriegbe of the APC. Oloriegbe polled 123,808 votes to defeat the incumbent senator who secured 68,994 votes in the election.

“Let’s also say to be honest that as much as we want to be magnanimous in victory, there are couple of things that have happened, that show that the Nigerian people know how to reward those who are extremely arrogant,” Oshiomhole said.

“People who came to the senate with less than a 100,000 votes and began to hold the country to ransom, their own people have recalled them home. While we were saying that we will impeach them, their people said they would rather bury them.

“Politically, now, they are out. It shows the power of democracy, it’s a leveler, an equalizer.”You cannot be bigger than the people. Our people say that a politician is likened to an Okro tree, it should never grow taller than the person who planted it.

“And those who plant the political okro tree are the Nigerian people. I think, a couple of lessons have been learnt.

“This game is for those who are humble, those who believe in the people. There are no dynasties, the people are the sovereign.

“When they borrow you the power, remember, it is only lend to you, and it will expire, and it will require renewal. If you don’t behave, thy will remove you.”

Oshiomhole also spoke glowingly of the President-elect’s acceptance speech, saying nothing less is expected of a statesman.

“I think Mr. President’s statement is what you expect from a statesman, that even in victory, he sowed humility and hand of fellowship to those who share commitment to the future of Nigeria and contested against him. But in every race, there would always be a winner,” he said.

Man bathes in gutter to Celebrate Buhari’s Victory as he fulfills promise.

A young man has fulfilled the promise he made before the presidential election held last Saturday, February 23rd, of batting in a gutter for 10 minutes if President Buhari wins the election.

The young man, based in the northern state of Bauchi bathed in the dirty water while people watched.

Recall that Buhari polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest rival, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 11,262,978 votes in the presidential poll.

True to his word, the man stayed for some minutes in a gutter and came out while displaying the 4 + 4 sign.

“You are unserious and ignorant”- Ganduje tells those doubting Kano results

The governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, has described those doubting votes cast for President Muhammadu Buhari in Kano, as both “unserious and ignorant” about Kano state’s politics.

He made this assertion when he visited Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had polled 1,464,768 votes in Kano ahead of Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 391,593 votes in Kano state. Buhari got his highest votes from Kano.

Recall that during the President’s visit to Kano for the Presidential campaign Ganduje had promised to deliver 5 million votes for the president. He has blamed the low turnout of voters as the reason he could not deliver on his promise.

However, the figures show that Kano could not have given Buhari 5 million votes. Kano had 5,457,747 registered voters but only 4,696,747 collected their biometric cards

“First of all they are not serious people, they are people who are anti-democracy. If you have seen how the election was conducted, I think everybody will agree that INEC tried very well,” Ganduje said.

“Even though there was low turn out of voters because we were expecting to get much more than that, but the election was fair and free. Those who say we couldn’t have got that much are ignorant of the politics of Kano.”

On his five million votes promise, he said: “Well, I told you is because of the low turn out of voters but I promise You next time…let’s look towards the governorship election.”

Responding to questions on his chances of winning the March 9 gubernatorial election, Ganduje said he is headed for success.

According to him, the result of the presidential and the national assembly has put the APC in the good stead to win the election.

“My chances are very high and you can see the beginning of it with the presidential elections,” he said.

“We gave Mr. President the highest number votes, all the three senators are back, 24 House of Representatives members out of 24 have succeeded. What else are you expecting? That is the foundation.

“Another thing is that Mr. President has done a lot of work in Nigeria and in Kano and as a government we have done a lot in Kano State. If there was negative reaction, we would have seen it from the presidential election.

“That is why I say we are heading for a huge success in Kano both in the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections.

“We are forging ahead in terms of getting the right thing done in Nigeria. So, I’m here to congratulate him personally before we come as a group from Kano to congratulate him.”

“We will NOT concede defeat, Atiku won’t call Buhari to concede” PDP declares

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has again pointed that Atiku Abubakar will not concede the presidential election to President Muhammadu Buhari as they have assembled a team of lawyers to challenge the result in court.

President Buhari, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared as the winner of the election with the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

PDP sources hint that Kanu Agabi, former attorney-general of the federation, will be leading the team of lawyers to challenge the result at the presidential election petitions tribunal of the federal court of appeal, Abuja.

Other members of the legal team as reported by TheCable, are Joe Gadzama, who has always served as a lawyer to the party, and Chris Uche, among other senior advocates of Nigeria.

“We are currently collating evidence to challenge the results being announced by INEC. We have been asking them to give us the data of of the card readers used in Borno, Yobe and Nasarawa states but they have so far refused. This is daylight robbery,” a PDP executive told TheCable.

“I can also tell you that Atiku will not make any call to Buhari to concede the election.”

The legal team was inaugurated by Bukola Saraki, the director-general of the PDP presidential campaign, on Tuesday evening at the Legacy House, Abuja.
