El’rufai To Enroll 218 Almajirai Into Primary Schools

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El – Rufai on Monday said all the 218 Almajirai repatriated from neighbouring states and tested negative for COVID – 19 will be enrolled in primary schools in the state .

No fewer than 680 Almajirai were repatriated from Kano, Plateau , Bauchi , Gombe and Niger States into Kaduna , according to the state Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hafsat Baba.

The Commissioner had said over 200 Almajirai out of the 680 were discharged after completion of the 14 days quarantine period.

The governor while expressing his joy in a post on his Facebook page on Monday said the Almajirai were being restored full human rights as children and added that every child in Kaduna has equal opportunity and access to 12 years of Free and Compulsory Education.

The governor said he was pleased to see “ our Almajirai children the batch of 218 from Kano, Nassarawa , Plateau & Gombe States looking well & free of COVID- 19 ”.

According to the governor , the next step is for the Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development , Hajiya Hafsat Baba and her team to return the Almajirai to their parents in collaboration with Local Government Chairmen and Traditional Rulers .

El – Rufai said , “ With the support of @ UNICEF _ Nigeria , AMA Foundation, other NGOs & philanthropists, they are being restored full human rights as children , dignity & hope !

“ Every child in Kaduna has equal opportunity and access to 12 years of Free and Compulsory Education in our public schools .

“ All the children are to be compulsorily enrolled in the primary school nearest to them so they have modern education and life skills in the morning , and continue their Quranic or Islamic education in the afternoon and over the weekend.

“ That is how many of us got our education . That is what the Northern States Governors ’ Forum decided . These children may the future of Northern Nigeria . ”

El Rufai visits Wammakko in Sokoto

Troops deployed to Kaduna community after attack

Kaduna state police command has revealed that a combined team of soldiers and mobile policemen have been deployed to Nandu Gbok community in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna where gunmen killed nine persons and burnt down over 30 houses on Saturday Morning.

Yakubu Sabo, the spokesman of Kaduna state Police command, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday said the deployment of troops to the community and its environs is to forestall any further break down of law and order.

He also revealed that efforts are being intensified to apprehend the attackers with a view of bringing them to justice.

He, therefore, appeal to residents of the affected community not to take laws into their hands but allow justice to take its course.

It was reported that gunmen had in the hours of Saturday attacked Nandu Gbok community in Sanga local government area of the state.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai while commiserating with the families of the victims, said his administration in partnership with security agencies, traditional and religious institutions will continue to work towards sustainable peace.

He added that security agencies have been deployed in the area, and the State Emergency Management Agency has been directed to immediately provide relief materials to the affected community.

Again El-Rufai emphasizes – “I’m not in Coma, my Driver not Dead”

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has declared that he is not in hospital coma, saying his driver is not dead as been speculated.

There was mild speculation that the governor involved in a fatal road accident. But on his official Facebook page, el-Rufai wrote: “I woke up after a rare 8-hour bout of deep sleep to learn that some bigotry-driven, PDP-affiliated fake news platform has declared my driver dead and my humble self in coma. Both claims are false.

“I thank them for reducing the days in their lives and adding them to mine.

I remain their permanent nightmare and not about to disappear from their wretched and corrupt lives any time soon by the Grace of Almighty Allah, until they are permanently retired and buried. – Nasir @elrufai,” the governor said.

El-Rufai is re-elected Governor of Kaduna State

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate and incumbent governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, as winner of the governorship polls.

Mr El-Rufai defeated his closest rival with a margin of 231, 259 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate who scored
votes of 814, 168 votes, the Premium Times report.

Elections were held in all 23 local governments areas of the state on Saturdayn 23 March 2019. The election was contested by 38 governorship candidates.

After a collation that lasted two days, Mr El-Rufai was declared winner by Prof. Muhammed Bello, the state collation officer. Mr Bello annouced that the incumbent governor polled a total votes of 1, 045, 427.

“That Nasir El-Rufai of the APC having satisfied the requirements of the law and having scored the highest number of votes is hereby returned and elected,” Mr Bello said.

Distribution of the votes indicates that Mr El-Rufai won in 14 local governments while Mr Ashiru won in nine.

Already, the PDP had threatened to reject the election result if is ‘against the wish of the people. ‘

In a press conference on Monday, the chairman of the party, Felix Hyet, alleged irregularities and rigging in the Saturday election.
