He said this during the inauguration of the PDP campaign council in Abuja on Tuesday .

Wike said neither he nor the PDP could be intimidated by threats coming from the All Progressives Congress over the Edo Governorship election.

He further said that he was told that Ganduje said and also read that he is going to isolate him until election is over. He however questioned that between him and Ganduje who suppose to be isolated in the country, if Nigeria was to be a country.

He then said that a man who pockets dollar deserves to be isolated and that’s why he was made the Chairman of APC for the election to spend the dollar.

Wike added that what APC and Ganduje don’t understand that he is from Niger Delta that he will consume all the hard currency that is with Ganduje and send him to coma afterwards.

Recall that Ganduje during a media briefing in Abuja , on Monday said he knows the PDP made Wike its (campaign council ) chairman and he assured that he will isolate Wike in an isolation centre and before he recovers , the election would have been over.

Earlier , in his address , the National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus asked the President Muhammadu Buhari – led regime to save the nation’ s democracy by ensuring that the votes of the people counted not only in Edo State , but across states where elections would be held going forward .

EDO 2020: ADP Stalwart, 105 Others Defect To PDP

An executive member of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Oshodin Izedomwen and 105 members have been reportedly defected to Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State.

This is coming after the incumbent governor of the State, Godwin Obaseki defected to PDP from All Progressives Congress.

The ADP defectors are from Egor , Ovia South West, and Ovia North East Local Government Areas of Edo.

Oshodin Izedomwen, the ADP Organising Secretary in Edo while leading other 105 defectors said that the defection was part of their belief in the capacity of the PDP.

He said he was a founding member of the PDP and that he left the party because of some persons , whom he described as “strange bedfellows ” who came to join the PDP.

He explained that the other defectors and himself had now returned to the PDP because the “ strange bedfellows had since left the party and added that interest is all that matters in politics.

Edo governorship election is slated for September 19 and Obaseki , who is the PDP candidate , will face Osagie Ize- Iyamu of the APC.

EDO 2020: ‘We Will Do Everything To Make You Win’ PDP Governors Assure Obaseki

Governors under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have assured Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State that they would do everything democratically possible to help him achieve his second term ambition.

The governors through the Director General of the PDP Governors Forum, Hon. C.I.D. Maduabum, assured that the Edo governor would perform better in his second term.

Maduabum said all the members in the forum have pledge their support for Obaseki to win the forthcoming election in Edo.

He then urged Obaseki to continue the good work he is doing for the state and also embrace all the people of Edo State, particularly the downtrodden and the vulnerable.

Gov. Obaseki recently dumped the ruling APC and pitched tent with the PDP after he was denied the APC ticket.

He was granted a waiver by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) and consequently emerged candidate of the party for the September 19, 2020, governorship election in the state.

Buhari Charges APC Governors, Says APC Must Win Edo and Ondo Election

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors to ensure that the party wins the forthcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States.

Buhari gave the marching order when the APC Governors on the platform of the Progressive Governors Forum, PGF, led by its Chairman, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State led some members of the forum and the Chairman, Caretaker/Convention Planning Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni paid a ‘thank you’ visit to him at the State House, Abuja.

It was reliably gathered that the President told the governors to mobilize themselves to do all that is necessary to make sure that Edo does not remain in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He also said that Ondo state must be retained by the governing party in the forthcoming election.

President Buhari was said to have been disappointed that a serving APC governor could be driven to the point of leaving the party and aligning with the opposition.

It will be recalled that Governor Obaseki of Edo state recently dumped the APC to the PDP as a result of his protracted differences with the former national Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Sources privy to the meeting hinted that President Buhari was critical about the crises in the governing party and was said to have reiterated his warning that the APC may disintegrate if the crises in it are allowed to fester.

The President told the governors that loyalty should be to the party rather than individuals.

Also at the meeting were chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF, and Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi; governors Yahaya Bello (Kogi) and Sani Bello (Niger).

Recall again that the lingering crises in the party led to the convocation of the emergency virtual National Executive Committee, NEC, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.

President Buhari at the NEC proposed the dissolution of the Oshiomhole-National Working Committee (NWC), and the setting up of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee with six months mandate to organize a convention.
In his remarks at the NEC. President Buhari warned that if not arrested, the crises in the party would lead to its disintegration.

He had, therefore, admonished all litigants in the party to withdraw all pending litigations against one another, and settle for internal conciliation.

This took place on Friday in Benin, the state capital.

Obaseki was received at Edo Secretariat of PDP by National Vice Chairman, Southsouth of the party, Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, who was accompanied by Edo PDP chairman Dr. Tony Aziegbemi; members of the State Working Committee (SWC) and some chieftains of the party.

Obaseki declined to speak with reporters at the end of the ceremony.

The Governor was not accompanied by his deputy, Philip Shaibu but it was gathered he would be at the secretariat in Benin for formal defection later on Friday.

The three screened and cleared governorship aspirants of PDP in Edo Kenneth Imasuagbon, Gideon Ikhine and Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama have vowed not to step down for Obaseki.

They said they will slug it out at the primary where indirect mode would be used on June 23 at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin
