Ondo2020: Akeredolu Consults Tinubu and Sanwo- For Victory

Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu , has paid a courtesy visit to the the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress , Asiwaju Bola Tinubu , and the Governor of Lagos State , Babajide Sanwo- Olu , to make consultations over the October 10 governorship election.

Akeredolu who disclosed this via his Twitter account said that he also presented his running mate in the election, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to the national leader .

He also said that he was in company with an APC governorship aspirant , Olusegun Abraham , who later stepped down for him .

On July 21 , the governor had been declared the winner of the governorship primary of the ruling APC in the state after polling 2 , 458 votes to beat his rivals in the indirect primary .

The governor added that the he visited APC leader , Tinubu , in Lagos to introduce his running mate.

Ondo 2020: Deputy Governor Loses Governorship Bid As Jegede Wins PDP Primary Election

Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi who recently defected to Peoples Democratic Party from All Progressives Congress has loses his bid to contest for the upcoming governorship election as Eyitayo Jegede early Thursday morning won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket.

Ajayi, though polled 657 votes but was behind 888 votes secured by the winner who will now go head to head with the incumbent governor, Rotimi Akeredolu for the state apex political seat.

The process was supervised by the party’s Primary Committee led by Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

No fewer than 2, 111 delegates from 18 local government areas were accredited.

Apart from the 888 votes amassed by winner and 657 votes casted for the Deputy Governor, other aspirants who made little impact in the poll are: Bode Ayorinde (95), Sola Ebiseni (29), Senator Boluwaji Kunlere (33), Banji Okunomo (90), Dr. Eddy Olafeso (175) and Godd Erewa (14).

Jegede victory has set the stage for a repeat of the 2016 battle with All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Akeredolu defeated Jegede – both of them lawyers and Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) to become governor.

Ondo 2020: Akeredolu Wins APC Primary Election

Rotimi Akeredolu , the Ondo State Governor has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the October 10 governorship election in the state.

Akeredolu was declared winner of the party’s primary election which ended around 12. 25am having won in all the local government areas of the state , defeating other seven contestants .

In the result, Akeredolu polled 2 , 458 votes , while Chief Olusola Oke came second , having scored 262 votes . Mr Isaac Kekemeke came third after polling 19 votes .

The primary of the APC was conducted with over 2 , 500 delegates from the 18 local government areas of the state who converged on the International Event Centre , Alagbaka , Akure , the state capital , to cast their votes .

No fewer than eight aspirants finally contested for the ticket of the party after three aspirants stepped down for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu .

As of Monday morning , the party had 11 aspirants jostling for the ticket .

They were Akeredolu , Chief Olusola Oke, Dr Segun Abraham, Mr Olaide Adelami and Mr Bukola Adetula.
Others were Mrs Jumoke Anifowose , Mr Sola Iji , Mr Isaac Kekemeke , Jimi Odimayo, Mr Nathaniel Adojutelegan and Mr Awodeyi Akinsehinwa

However , before the commencement of the exercise , the trio of Abraham , Odimayo and Adojutelegan withdrew from the race and declared their support for Akeredolu .

Breaking: Ondo Governor Tests Positive For Covid-19 Days After Attending APC NEC Meeting

Rotimi Akeredolu, the Ondo State Governor has been tested positive for coronavirus after attending All Progressive Congress National Executive Council Meeting in Abuja

The governor confirmed his status via his
Twitter handle on Tuesday.

He stated that he tasted positive for COVID-19 and has since been in self-isolation according to the guidelines. He however assured that he is doing just well and noted all prayers over his well being from everyone is duly appreciated.

The governor explained that he was advised to take the COVID- 19 test by a governor at the All Progressives Congress National Executive Council meeting held on Thursday in Abuja after been diagnosed of malaria some days back.

He further said the result for the test came out positive but he is asymptomatic

Akeredolu also said that despite been infected with coronavirus, that won’t deter him from performing his public duty.

The governor concluded by advising that malaria should not be just treated as likely.

‘I Will Emerge Victorious Now and In October Elections’ Akeredolu Boasts Ahead Of Ondo APC Primary

Ondo state Governor , Rotimi Akeredolu declared on Saturday that he was ready for either direct or indirect primaries.

Speaking through the state Commissioner for Information , Mr Donald Ojogo , the governor expressed confidence that he would win the party ticket and the main election in July and October respectively .

He said that he isn’t not afraid of any direct primaries ; the noise being orchestrated by members of the Unity Forum is to bring impression that Governor Akeredolu is afraid of direct primaries .

He further emphasized that he would prefer direct primaries as they are even more prepared for the direct primaries than those who claimed the governor in support of indirect primary elections.

He concluded boasting that the governor will surely emerge the winner in the primary and in the general election come October.
