Again: herdsmen rob farmer, gang-rape 16-year-old daughter in Ogun State

Two men identified as herdsmen have been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for invading a farm in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state, allegedly stealing the sum of N140,000 and gang-raping the 16-year-old daughter of the owner of the farm.

The opolice were reported to have apprehended the suspects, Abu Adamu and Muhammadu Aliyu, last Wednesday.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

When describing the incidence Oyeyemi said the herdsmen had invaded a farm settlement at Afowowa Gbelu where they dispossessed one Amina Okeshola of the sum of N140,000 and then moved on to gang-raped her 16-year-old daughter on the farmland.

They were arrested for robbery and rape after a distress call was received by the police at the Ewekoro Divisional Headquarters around 1am.

It was reported that the police was alerted that armed men had invaded a farm settlement at Afowowa Gbelu village in the Ewekoro Local Government Area and that an attack was ongoing.
