Nigeria’s Federal Government gets less allocation in 2020 compared to 2019 – NEITI
The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) reports that the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) approved N3.879trn for the Federal Government, states, local governments, and other statutory recipients in the first six months of 2020.
The Federal Government received N1.53trn while the all the states of the federation received N1.29trn and N771.34bn went to the 774 local government areas of the federation.
These details were contained in the new quarterly report of the NEITI in Abuja on Tuesday.
The review pointed to the drop in the amount received by the Federal Government in the first six months of 2020 as compared the same period in 2019. The N1.53trn received in the first-half of 2020 was 4.28 per cent lower than the N1.599trn it got in the first half of 2019, and about 7.36 per cent lower than the N1.652trn it received in the first half of 2018.
