PSG coach Thomas Tuchel praises Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Thomas Tuchel went head-to-head with Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Wednesday and he was full of praise for the Norwegian.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer epitomises the spirit of Manchester United , according to his Paris Saint-Germain counterpart Thomas Tuchel.
The United caretaker boss takes his side to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night seeking to overturn a 2-0 first leg deficit in the Champions League last-16 tie.
As a player Solskjaer was at the heart of United’s greatest European comeback, scoring the winning goal in the Camp Nou to beat Bayern Munich in the 1999 Champions League final.
He’ll be seeking to repeat the trick as a manager in Paris and although the odds are stacked against United given the lengthy injury list, Tuchel, who was born in Bavaria, knows better than to think this tie is over given Solskjaer’s dramatic intervention in Barcelona 20 years ago against Bayern.
“It’s better to always be aware of the qualities of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,” Tuchel said on the eve of this second leg.
“He was one of the key players of the biggest era of this club. He was always ready to help, in 30 minutes, 20 mins, 10 or five.
And “Ole Gunnar Solskjaer” did it after 90 minutes 😃😀
