“Conduct fresh election in Dogara’s constituency” – APC tells INEC

The Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in has rejected the results of the election in which Dogara was declared winner.

The party claimed there were manipulations and irregularities through out the conduct of the exercise.

The APC is demanding for fresh polls in the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara’s Dass /Tafawa Balewa /Bogoro federal constituency. Reports available from Daily Trust revealed that the party’s demand was contained in a statement by the head of media and publicity committee of APC Campaign Council in the state, Balarabe Shehu Illelah.

The statement reads in part: “The APC hereby declare it’s rejection of the results for Bogoro local government because of the following reasons which includes the harassment and intimidation of voters that scared them away from performing their civil duties.

“There were manipulations and irregularities that characterized the conduct of the exercise which affected and marred the outcome of the results as well as the deliberate refusal to use electronic card readers”.

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) had earlier announced the speaker as the winner in the elections that took place on Saturday.
