“I have asked all the IDPs residing in my Shinkafi houses to immediately pack out” Zamfara Guber candidate ejects IDPs

The All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) governorship candidate in Zamfara State, Alhaji Sani Shinkafi, on Wednesday reafirmed his order all displaced persons residing in his houses in Shinkafi, Zamfara State, to vacate for voting for the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.

He made the confirmation in Gusau during a press conference organized by a coalition of some political parties in the state protesting against the elections.

“I have asked all the IDPs residing in my Shinkafi houses to immediately pack out because they are not serious in life.

“These are people who had to leave their villages due to insecurity caused by a government that could not provide such basic necessity to them, yet they went and sold their votes at the last elections trying to bring back the same gang,” he claimed.

“The electorate have asked President Muhammadu Buhari to serve a second term”- Tinubu

The former Governor of Lagos State asked for calmness in the coming governorship elections as he expressed confidence that the President-elect knows what the challenge ahead is.

His statement was contained in a press statement made available to the media in Lagos by his media officer, Tunde Rahman. He praised the conduct of the elections as free, fair and credible adding that the outcomes of the elections was a nude to the incumbent President to go on for another four years.

“In a decisive manner, the electorate have asked President Muhammadu Buhari to serve a second term. Thus, we should look forward to the next four years with hearts filled with hope and hands ready to work.

“Only God can create the Promised Land. Yet, with God’s help, we endeavour to make of Nigeria a land of greater promise and prosperity for all her children.

“With President Buhari at the helm for four more years, I know we can achieve this. Congratulations to President Buhari on your re-election,” he said. Tinubu said that with the election, Nigeria signaled to the world its unalloyed embrace of democracy and its unflinching determination to perfect the democracy. On the electoral violence that led to loss of lives, he said that Nigerians should dedicate themselves to the principle that elections were meant to better the lives of citizens.

“While this election was free and fair, we also must acknowledge the isolated incidents of violence. Nigerians were killed and injured during what otherwise was an exemplary democratic procession. Such things should never happen and do us no good.

“Let us work even harder to ensure that the March governorship and state assembly elections be devoid of such unfortunate incidents,” he said.

“No doubt, Nigeria has its challenges, but it stands undaunted as a nation. President Buhari, in his second term, will continue to install peace, battle corruption head on and build a political culture of civility, tolerance and equality.

“The tasks before us are hard. We dare not underestimate the challenges that await, but the rewards that beckon are profound,” he said. The former governor of Lagos state congratulated President Buhari and commended APC supporters and Nigerians for their patience, and their commitment to the democratic electoral process.

“The people of Nigeria are industrious and brave. Our plans are visionary and bold. Our goals are just. And the president you have re-elected is honest and true.

“There is no aspect of national greatness and achievement that lies beyond our reach. Posterity shall reward you for what you established on election day.

“Today the sun shines brighter on Nigeria. If we work hard, tomorrow we shall be able to say the same thing,” Tinubu said.

“Nigerian people know how to reward those who are extremely arrogant”- Oshiomole on Saraki’s defeat

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC),
Adams Oshiomhole, says Senate President Bukola Saraki’s reflects the power of the people in rejceting people who are arrogant.

He made this statement while addressing state house correspondents at the presidential villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

While refusing to mention any name, it coulöd easily be deduced that he was referring to the senate president. This was even clearer when he said
although the ruling party had plans to impeach Saraki, the people decided they would rather “bury him.”

Dr. Bukola Saraki, represents Kwara central senatorial district under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has been the President of the Senate since 2015. He, however, lost to Ibrahim Oloriegbe of the APC. Oloriegbe polled 123,808 votes to defeat the incumbent senator who secured 68,994 votes in the election.

“Let’s also say to be honest that as much as we want to be magnanimous in victory, there are couple of things that have happened, that show that the Nigerian people know how to reward those who are extremely arrogant,” Oshiomhole said.

“People who came to the senate with less than a 100,000 votes and began to hold the country to ransom, their own people have recalled them home. While we were saying that we will impeach them, their people said they would rather bury them.

“Politically, now, they are out. It shows the power of democracy, it’s a leveler, an equalizer.”You cannot be bigger than the people. Our people say that a politician is likened to an Okro tree, it should never grow taller than the person who planted it.

“And those who plant the political okro tree are the Nigerian people. I think, a couple of lessons have been learnt.

“This game is for those who are humble, those who believe in the people. There are no dynasties, the people are the sovereign.

“When they borrow you the power, remember, it is only lend to you, and it will expire, and it will require renewal. If you don’t behave, thy will remove you.”

Oshiomhole also spoke glowingly of the President-elect’s acceptance speech, saying nothing less is expected of a statesman.

“I think Mr. President’s statement is what you expect from a statesman, that even in victory, he sowed humility and hand of fellowship to those who share commitment to the future of Nigeria and contested against him. But in every race, there would always be a winner,” he said.

“We are not jittery at all” SGF as Atiku heads to court

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boos Mustapha, says President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress are not scared about Atiku Abubakar’s plans to challenge the result of Saturday’s presidential election.

APC had fielded Buhari, as the candidate of the party during the elections where he polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat Atiku, the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 11,262,978 votes.

At a world press conference held in Abuja yesterday, Atiku had formally rejected the outcome of the election, describing it as “the worst in Nigeria’s history” and the worst since his 30-year political experience.

However, Mustapha said there is nothing to worry about.

“We are not jittery at all because the process was open and transparent. It was a credible election and we will continue to savour the victory. In the process too, we will extend the hand of friendship for the purpose of nation building and reconciliation,” Boss, opined.

“Our electoral act and the constitution have both provided a window for whoever is dissatisfied with the process of election to seek redress. That is the path and we will encourage them to go along that path.”

“You won a SELECTION, but lost integrity”- Reno Omokri to Buhari

Following the declaration of President Buhari as the winner of Saturday’s presidential elections, Reno Omokri has taken to social media to castigate the president for what he described as a “stolen mandate”.

Reno Omokri, an author, lawyer and former aide of the Former Preisdent Goodluck Jonathan, has been ceasless critic of the Muhhamadu Buhari-led administration. The details of his post is as follows:

“Dear President Buhari,

Congratulations on your stolen mandate. You DID NOT win an election. You won a selection, but lost integrity. I congratulate you for your theft. If God spares my life and yours, I will torment you every step of the way. Congrats for revealing your true nature. There is now no difference between you and the politicians you look down on with disdain. You are corrupt, like them. You rig, like them (only less intelligently). Unlike them, you pretend to be a saint.

“How are you better than Shagari you overthrew? You rigged worse than him. You are more corrupt than him. Your handling of the economy is worse than his to the extent investors removed ₦85 billion from the economy when your win was imminent. To those APC leaders now celebrating, exactly what are you celebrating? The next four years will see you get poorer. When you beg China for loans, remember that Nigeria’s poverty is self induced. Buhari is a magnet for EXTREME POVERTY.

“Finally, on behalf of the people of Borno and Yobe, who MIRACULOUSLY doubled their voter turnout despite being war ravaged, I hereby declare you, Muhammadu Buhari the President-Select by the majority of rigged votes. What you have is a LEPROUS mandate.

—Reno Omokri”
