Breaking!!! NJC Gives Onoghen 7-Working Days to Respond to CCT Petition
The National Judicial Council (NJC) the administrative making and disciplinary body of the Nigerian judiciary has met this afternoon, 29th January 2019, after it refused to meet on an earlier scheduled meeting this month.
It rose from the meeting with a directive to the Justice Walter Onoghen respond to Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Petition. the NJC also make remarks on Justice Ibrahim Muhammed of the CCT with a similar timeline to respond to allegations against it.
It will be recalled that Justice Walter Onoghen, the embattled Chief justice of the Nigeria (CJN) had earlier been “suspended” by President Buhari on account of a directive of the CCT bodering on allegations of non-disclosure of assets by CJN.
